February 2007 - Tracked and mixed a three song
demo for local garage band
From The Archives. Also
revisited an older project -
The Infidels - and
dubbed in some vocals. Great Super Bowl party, as
always, at Rob Harari's (of Harariville). Producer
Machine was there and very excited about his
upcoming trip to the Grammys. Lamb of God's
"Redneck" is up for the Best Metal performance &
Machine produced it...I hope he wins.

West Coast indie label,
Analog Arkives, contacted
me about doing the next Sasquatch and the
Sickabillies full length. The band is supposed to
be here next month. Label owner, Anthony, is flying
in a few days early so we can also work with local
psychobilly band
Speed Crazy.

January 2007 - Completed mixing of the
self-released debut of
Snake Pliskin. Also did some
bass tracks for California's favorite goth band
Voodoo Church. Mike Boehm, who I've worked with on
two other projects, recently joined
Missiles &
Markers. They're a melodic punk band and I had the
pleasure of tracking and mixing our first song
together last week. I'm looking forward to the next
round of three songs sometime in March it looks
like.

Local garage band,
From The Archives, are due in
next week to track & mix a three song demo.

December 2006 - When I Was Dead were in to lay
down a few new guitar tracks on some of the stuff
we started earlier this year. Singer/songwriter
Mike Ferraro was also in for his third time. We
tracked & mixed three new songs under the moniker
of
Kira & the Crisis. Also began tracking of a full
length by South Orange's
Snake Pliskin which
they'll be releasing themselves next year. They're
kind of a rock/funk/jam band and probably the
only
one named after a Kurt Russel character.

November 2006 - Sweet Irony was in from Boston
to track and mix 4 songs. It's coming out very
well. The tracking was completed over a weekend and
we'll be mixing it later in the month.

Also, I think I'm going to be switching to a
Soundcraft Ghost console. I love what I have now
but think I'd like to add even more analog beef to
the front end and I think I'll really like the EQ.

October 2006 - Finished mixing Protoavis' full
length. It's being mastered and they'll be
releasing it themselves in December or January. We
got a lot accomplished in a relatively short time &
it came out well so check it out!
Lowdown have been
in rehearsing and doing vocal tracks & mixing. We
completed one track and have two more in the can
for another day.
Long Gone Day were in again. We
cut three songs live and only overdubbed vocals. A
lot of energy happening there, definitely more of a
punk edge than they've ever had and by far the
band's favorite recordings to date. Also had a
great, energetic bunch of young guys in called
Jester, from South Jersey.  We tracked and mixed an
EP length demo over a long weekend that they're
thrilled with.

Two other things, congratulations again to my
friend Joe Nguyen on his marriage this month. It
was a great punk rock wedding at a very upscale
place in Short Hills that we took control of! Thats
always a good time! Second, my Yankees choked their
way out of the playoffs BUT...we'll be back next
year. Due in next month are
Sweet Irony, a hard
rock band from Boston

September 2006 - Morris County's Protoavis were
in tracking for a full length they hope to release.
Mixing will be done next month. Also picked up work
again on the
When I Was Dead project. Danny
Frankenstein & Lenny Love were in dubbing guitar
parts and I'll be mixing two of the songs next week.

Mike Boehm
(Downfall) had to postpone the sessions
we had scheduled due to his drummers broken
hand...ouch! We'll hopefully be rescheduling those
later this year. Also booked in for next month are
Sweet Irony, a hard rock band from the Boston area.
I've worked with their drummer, Sean Davies,
previously with Brookline Falls and I'm really
looking forward to these sessions. I anticipate
doing some work with local cover band, Static, as
well.

August 2006 - Ok...back in the saddle. Recording
started up again midway through the month. First up
was
American Barfight.  This was round two of demo
tracking for the Sussex Co. based punk band who
have some indie label interest going on. Also in
were
The Afterlife, a young local band making their
first studio recording...and they did well.

Coming up in September are recording sessions with
Lowdown, a Bloomfield based metal band and Mike
Boehm's (Downfall) new, still untitled, band. Also
in are
Protoavis, a Morris County based alternative
punk band will be doing their first full length
here.

July 2006 - I've taken most of this month off
from my sessions to try and take advantage of the
good, hot boating weather while it's here...let's
hope it doesn't rain on my parade. I did have my
old buddy
Steve Miller (Electric Frankenstein) in
demoing some solo stuff. Straight up, punch you in
the face rock & roll...I hope he puts a good band
together on this one & records a full length. Some
of the projects on tap for August include sessions
with American Barfight and local alternative rock
band, The Afterlife. Mike Boehm (Downfall) is also
coming in with his other band.

June 2006 - Worked on an interesting project
featuring guitar wiz Dave Rick
(Yo La Tengo), Sal
Canzonieri of
Electric Frankenstein and Steve
Cerio. We did guitar tracks for 19 songs that Steve
is producing and mixing, and had a lot of fun doing
it. The record is being released on
Noiseville and
I hope to do more work with these guys, it was a
great experience.

C.I.Infidels were also in to record and mix their
demo. The band features several members of the
Dark
Brothers, who I've previously worked with, but
their music is faster and heavier.

May 2006 - Mike Boehm of Downfall was in with
another project of his. They don't have a name yet
but they've got their songs down pretty good. We
tracked and mixed five songs for their demo.

I spent a lot of time this month getting the boat
ready to put in for the season and kept my sessions
to a minimum. Many thanks again to Regis and Ruben.
The maiden voyage was taken Memorial Day weekend
with producer/engineer extraordinaire Mike Roze and
his wife.

April 2006 - American Barfight were back in to
record their second demo. We got a little bit more
involved on this one and ended up recording the
basics for a few extra tracks that we may come back
to. Also finished the remixes For
Live Sex Dolls
with new guitar.

Many personal thanks to Regis Haines of the
Tombstone Brawlers and Hangmen Records for his help
in getting my boat ready for the water...I owe you
dude! PS...you have to hear the mastered version of
their latest. Regis gave me a sneak preview and it
smokes.

March 2006 -  Tracked new lead and rhythm
guitars for different versions of the
Live Sex
Dolls
recordings we did last year. It came out well
and I understand they'll be releasing the songs
themselves as an EP.

When I Was Dead were in for a weekend of guitar
tracking. They're making slow but steady progress
on their first release (limited budget). But I'd
imagine with the guest artists they've got, a
decent indie deal shouldn't be too far off.

Spent the last part of the month in Florida with
Mike Roze and my brother taking in the last few
spring training games...I could do this every month.

February 2006 - Spent a week in Southern
California tracking a bunch of great guest artists
for an upcoming "When I Was Dead" record.  I put
together a simple mobile rig and did some of the
recording in their homes and some in various local
studios. Guests included Greg Hetson of
Bad
Religion
& the Circle Jerks, Rik Agnew of The
Adolescents,
DI, 45 Grave & (the original) Social
Distortion.  Tina of Voodoo Church and George of
the
ADZ  also guested as well as Tony Cadena of the
Adolescents/ADZ. Tony's been an ongoing contributor
to this project. Several other people's schedules
prevented them from making it so there may be one
more trip later this summer. We're also hoping to
have a few local guests (Danzig & Murphy's Law)...

January 2006 -      Looks like there's a road
trip coming up. Dan Canzonieri of
Electric
Frankenstein has a new band, When I Was Dead. He's
lined up some great guests for their upcoming debut
that I'll be tracking on location in California.
Some of the folks we hope will be appearing include
members or ex members of
The Adolescents/ADZ, Bad
Religion, Circle Jerks, The Foo Fighters, The
Germs, Nirvana, Social Distortion &  more...this
should rock!

On the homefront, I mixed the newest Downfall stuff
and also finished mixing Transient with Tom Engel &
Eddie Faust. Tracking wise we did overdubs on The
Tombstone Brawlers/Meteors collabaration and I
tracked/board mixed drum, bass, scratch guitar
tracks to bring to California for the When I Was
Dead project.

December 2005 -  Started the month in
Florida...not a bad place to be in December.
Finished mixing
Live Sex Dolls. Looks like I may
get another project from these guys as a
result...cool.

The Tombstone Brawlers brought in Nigel Lewis of
the Meteors, from England. They tracked a version
of Blue Moon of Kentucky for an upcoming
international Elvis tribute record.

Downfall, a local metal/rap band were in again to
track some new stuff. We'll probably mix it next
month.

It's been a somewhat leisurely holiday season but
next year is already booking up fast and shaping up
to be great. Happy New Year!!!

November 2005 - A lot of mixing this month.
Final mixes on the
Dark Brothers were completed.
Also did a bit more on
Brookline Falls mixing and
touchups. Mixing of
The Tombstone Brawlers new full
length was finished this month as well.

Joe Wilkinson of
Dropbox & the boys from Long Gone
Day
were in again tracking various parts of their
new 3 song demo. Local band
Riverside were also in
to track and mix a 4 song demo. The year's starting
to wind down toward the holidays & I'm preparing
for Florida...ROCK!!!

October 2005 - Long Gone Day were back in with
Joe Wilkinson from
Dropbox acting as producer and
additional guitarist. We're working on a new 3 song
demo that Joe is going to shop for them.

Took on an EP length mixing project for local metal
band
Live Sex Dolls which was recorded at
Harariville by my good friend Mike Roze.

September 2005 -  Tony Cadena of  The
Adolescents was in from California for vocals on
When I Was Dead. Hell of a fun session and a great
guy. I also cut new vocals on a
Brookline Falls
song and had
Biofeedback, a local punk band, in for
their second time. We tracked and mixed several
songs over a few days.

Overdubs and mixing continue on
The Tombstone
Brawlers, Brookline Falls and The Dark Brothers.

August 2005 - Did a live 3 song demo with
American Barfight. I understand it's been well
received and the band plans to do a full length
early next year with me on the Neve at Harariville.
 The
Dark Brothers were in for the last of four
tracking sessions and
The Wrecking Dead were also
in to track and mix  3 new songs for their upcoming
release.

Mixing continues on
The Tombstone Brawlers and
Brookline Falls.

July 2005 - Had the Dark Brothers in for the
third of four tracking sessions and we'll start
mixing soon. I'm really digging these guys. Jon
Steele has contacted
Chris Goss (Queens of the
Stone Age producer) about maybe doing some stuff
with him out in Joshua Tree, Calif...we'll see.

Did basic demo tracking for a new band -
When I Was
Dead.
It features ex-members of Electric
Frankenstein, Broken Heroes and Rosemary's Babies.
Tony Cadena from SoCal's finest,
The Adolescents,
will be featured on one track. If all goes as
planned, the full length may also feature
appearances by Greg Hetson (
Bad Religion, Circle
Jerks), Jello Biafra (Dead Kennedys), and members
of
Danzig and the Misfits.

Mixing continues on
The Tombstone Brawlers...we're
doing about one day a week and I'm going to start
Brookline Falls mixing soon too.

June 2005 - Basic tracking continued all of June
on
Brookline Falls. It's coming out well. We'll
continue overdubbing into July and I'll start
mixing after that. We'll also be doing more vocal
and maybe one or two new songs in August or
September.

The Dark Brothers were back in to track basics for
4 more songs. They'll be back in a couple weeks to
do the overdubs and mix. I think we'll also be
doing 3 or 4 more to complete a full length. I also
started mixing
The Tombstone Brawlers in late June
and it's going to sound real good.

May 2005 - I started pre-production and basic
tracking with
Brookline Falls late this month and
will pretty much keep the studio blocked out for
them through late June. This is a full length
project that I'm producing in an effort to help
secure a good record deal. I believe very strongly
in these guys and their music...with any luck a lot
more people will be grooving on them soon.

Earlier this month
The Wrecking Dead, a heavy
psychobilly band originally from Denmark, were in
for several days. We did three songs for what
should be their new label and will hopefully be
doing the whole record later on.
Johnny Thursday
and The Friday Knights were also in again, for a
one song session due out on a tribute record. I
also mixed three songs for a local Jersey band, All
Is Fair, and finished mixing Trouble Bound for
Hangmen Records. And I've made time to work with
Long Gone Day on a three song demo for Arista and
Roadrunner Records...good luck to them.

April 2005 - Finished vocal overdubs for The
Tombstone Brawlers and we should start mixing in
May or June.
The Devil Spades were back in from NYC
to mix 7 new songs and add vocals. I also started a
new project with John from
Electric Frankenstein
and Josh from
Shirk Circus. The music is kind of
raw, country junkie meets The Replacements...great
stuff tentatively titled "The Dark Brothers".

March 2005 - The majority of Trouble Bound is
mixed and it sounds great. Also did most of the
tracking for the upcoming
Tombstone Brawlers full
length and we got just amazing sounds for this.
I'm happy to be working with Tom Engel again. He's
a tremendous singer and has paired up with
songwriter/musician Eddie Faust for a 9 song demo
in the vein of Dream Theater. I'll be mixing
tracks they've already recorded as well as
recording vocals.

On another note,
Brookline Falls, the great young
pop/rock band I'll be producing this summer, played
with
Amos Lee at NY's Bitter End this month after
his performance on Lettermen. Hopefully it'll be
them  with Dave next year. Great show guys!!

Next month should bring final tracking and overdubs
for Tombstone Brawlers and completion of Trouble
Bound...

February 2005 -  Mixing of Johnny Thursday  is
complete and I've started mixing Trouble Bound. In
between these projects I tracked several new songs
for Electric Frankenstein and Ironhead to be
released with an upcoming issue of AMP magazine.
I'll also be finishing mixing Ironhead this week as
their label has decided to press some early copies
for the band's upcoming European gigs.

Next month will bring The Tombstone Brawlers in to
track their upcoming album. This will be another
Hangmen Records release.

January 2005 - Mixing of Electric Frankenstein
is done. The record came out real good. Johnny
Thursday will be done next. We're doing some
overdubs on a few songs the last week of the month
and then we should be finished. Trouble Bound is
next up for mixing and it's going to be a joy.
Their such a tight band and we got such great
sounds tracking it'll pretty much mix itself.

December 2004 - Most of Electric Frankenstein
is mixed. Just a couple last songs we need vocals
on and that project is finished. Ironhead were up
from Virginia to do 5 new songs. We're supposed to
be doing a 4 song split w/Ironhead and Electric
Frankenstein to be distributed free with an
upcoming issue of AMP magazine. Downfall were in to
track a couple of new songs and mix...HEAVY, HEAVY
stuff! 7 Ways Out were also in to demo a few songs.
I've also mixed about half of Johnny Thursday's
record. We'll be doing a few dubs and finishing
mixing in January.

January will also see the completion of Electric
Frankenstein. This is the 13th and perhaps final
album of their 13 year career and it rocks. It will
be out on TKO Records in April.  I'll also start
mixing the Trouble Bound album as well as some
overdubs and mixing for The Devil Spades.

November 2004 - Regis and Sean from Hangmen
Records have kept me jumping this month. We
finished the tracking for Trouble Bound and Johnny
Thursday. Thursday will be mixed first, probably by
mid-December. I also did tracking of 7 songs for
another Hangmen artist, The Devil Spades. Great
stuff also. We'll be mixing that probably after the
holidays for release next year. I also finished
mixing Matty Z.'s demo and did another nice
acoustic track with Mike Ferraro.

December is shaping up to be just as busy. I've got
a young emo/punk type band - 7 Ways Out - coming in
for a 3 or 4 song demo. Then Ironhead is finally
coming back up from Virginia to track the last 3
songs of their new album. Downfall is coming back
later in the month also to track a couple more
songs and maybe recut some vocals on our last
session. And of course there's lots of mixing to be
done...Johnny Thursday and Electric Frankenstein
need to be done this month. I'm also negotiating
now with a band that Sal from EF will be producing.
We're trying to work out an all in deal that would
bring this Philly band in early next year. I may do
some of it in the Neve room in Hoboken...we'll see.

October 2004 -  I've done some of the rough mixing
of Electric Frankenstein's new full length for TKO
Records. But with the bands hectic touring schedule
they haven't been able to do vocals yet. Hangmen
Records brought in Troublebound and Johnny Thursday
and the Friday Knights. We did the basic sessions
for both bands albums and will continue dubbing and
mixing well into November. Props to Long Gone Day
who've been busy as well. They played a few cool
gigs recently with LA Guns, Steven Adler, Josh
Todd, George Lynch and Metal Church. Now they're
preparing to hopefully hit the road with with
original member(s) of Godsmack for a Northeast US
tour. We'll be doing a 3 song demo in early
November to help them with that.
Also coming up in November will be another Hangmen
Records band - The Devil Spades. I believe we'll be
tracking 5 complete songs and redoing vocals on a
bunch of others. I'll also finish the dubs for
Troublebound and Johnny Thursday and start mixing.
Matty Z. final mixes are being done the 2nd week in
November.
Also I FINALLY got the new board wired
in...temporarily anyway. This weekend, with Mike
Roze's invaluable assistance, it should be wired in
a bit more permanent.

September 2004 - I'll be starting basic tracks for
the new Electric Frankenstein record next week in
the A room at Harariville in Hoboken. I love that
Neve console! We hope to have all the music tracks
done in a week. Vocals, overdubs and mixing will be
done in my room over the next few months.
Electric Frankenstein basic tracking went great.
We've still got guitar overdubs and vocals to go
before mixing. The Cheats was also a cool
session...crazy but cool. We tracked 17 songs in 2
days and it sounds great. I should be mixing that
over the next month or so.
I've got two bands coming in mid October -
Troublebound and Johnny Thursday and the Friday
Knights that I'll be tracking and mixing for
Hangmen Records. More details to come...

August 2004 - Ok...here we go, it's about to be
crazy for a while. Matty Z. is in basically once a
week for the next month or so. Next week is
tracking and mixing with a new pop/rock group,
Brookline Falls... I'm real excited about this one.
Then Demi, a young rock band based in South Orange,
come in.  The following week is The Cheats from Pa.
(produced by Sal of Electric Frankenstein). We'll
be doing tracking for a full length release that
I'll also mix over the next month or so. This will
be followed by Downfall, a downtuned metal band
from Central NJ. In between these projects
pre-production starts for the last 4 songs of Kevin
Kelly's project - Blu82. Then there's September...
Brookline Falls went real well, very cool
stuff...look for some audio postings soon. I'm
expecting a lot more people to know who these guys
are someday (if there's a record exec left without
his head in his ass). Demi  tracked and mixed 5
songs for a future self release. Downfall were in
for 5 songs as well. They're tuned down to A and
loud as hell. We had a lot of fun and everyone was
real happy with how it came out. The Cheats tracked
a total of 17 songs that I'll be mixing over the
next month or so.

July 2004 - Local punk band, Biofeedback, were in
to record and mix a 4 song demo. I also began a 6
song project with singer/songwriter, Matty Z.  And
Nick Arroyo is back again. This time around we're
working on more beat oriented songs.
August and September are also booking very quickly.
Ironhead (fka The Runarounds), from Va., are booked
for the tracking and mixing of the last 4 songs for
their next record. The Cheats, from Pa., will be
tracking and mixing after that. Both projects are
being produced with Sal from Electric Frankenstein.
I'll also be working with a new pop/rock band in
the vein of Maroon 5 that are tentatively called
Transit.  Additionally, I'll be starting work on
the new Electric Frankenstein record in early
September. Tracking will be done in the A room at
Harariville in Hoboken on their awesome Neve
console!

June 2004 - This month started with another session
at Harariville...a tracking session for a 13 piece
gospel choir, Reunited For Christ, with M. Roze.
Look for an audio sample of this soon on the
"Sounds" page. Ironhead (fka The Runarounds) are
back from Norway where they were a big hit on
national TV and radio. They'll be coming up from
Virginia to track and mix the remaining four songs
for their next record in July. Local punk
youngsters - Biofeedback - will also be here in
July and The Cheats (from Pa.) have booked in for
August.
Lots and lots of drum tracks this weekend! Cut
drums for 10 songs with M. Roze. Most were for the
next full length from his band - The Subterraneans.
Several more were for a project he's working on
featuring ex-Pharoah members.
The Wrecking Dead, a psychobilly band originally
from Denmark, have booked in for this 4th of July
weekend. We're doing a 2-3 song demo and will
hopefully get a decent budget to do the full length
soon. Matty Z., a local singer/songwriter in the
vain of Foo Fighters/Sublime/Weezer will start
vocal tracks and mixing on 6 songs next week.

May 2004 - Worked on a couple of mellower projects
these past couple weeks. Two local
singer/songwriters, Nick Arroyo and Mike Ferraro.
Did some nice piano tracks for Nick on the Steinway
grand at Harariville (thanks M. Roze...) and some
real nice acoustic guitar tracks for Mike here.
It'll get loud again this weekend though with
Bitter Hearts coming in to track. Also making
arrangements with Pa. based punk band The Cheats to
come in this summer. Sal from EF will be producing
that.
More gear...again! Looks like a beautiful Yamaha
ebony black piano is the latest addition. If all
pans out it should be here in a couple weeks. I'm
also buying a few of Tony Visconti's old DBX
compressors and a Lexicon reverb. Many a famous
voice...and drums have passed thru these babies and
I think there's still some magic in them. My thanks
to Tony for selling them to me...
Bitter Hearts tracking and mixing is complete. It
came out real good. Long Gone Day came back to lay
basic tracks for 6 new songs...great stuff. We're
doing overdubs, vocals and mixing soon. Also been
doing a little pre production for Steve Miller's
(Electric Frankenstein) next project with Cherry
13.  I may be doing a track for Australian metal
band - Devolved - in June. They had the number one
metal record in Australia in 2002.

April 2004 - All At Random tracking and mixing is
done...wow! 15 tracks in 2 1/2 long days. It was
basically cut live with minimal overdubbing. Great,
fun stuff. Last months Ironhead (fka The
Runarounds) sessions are going to be released as a
full length in Spain. This is in addition to the
Germany release already scheduled for later this
year. We'll be recording 3 more songs in late June
or early July for the Spain record. Also should be
working with "Leo" again soon on a hip hop session
in NYC. The Sophomore Effort's being mastered in
Florida as I type and I should have some preview
cuts posted on the Sounds page soon.
Added a few more pieces of gear...a vintage DBX
compressor and expander and an 80's Ashly
parametric EQ. Nice drum tracking stuff. Also added
an ART tube limiting compressor...this was a
recommendation from Mike Roze - producer/engineer
who'd used Tony Visconti's (of David Bowie fame) on
a previous session at Tony's home studio. They both
loved it.
My next session is more Bitter Hearts tracking.
This will include a new version of "12 Days" for
release at Christmas time on a Volunteer Records
comp. We're also doing 2 other songs that we hope
to have released as they're first single by years
end.

March 2004 - Presently I'm  mixing Ironhead for
release in Germany (produced by Sal of EF) and
putting the final touches on Long Gone Day and
Blu82. Guitar and vocal tracks for The Sophomore
Effort's latest are done and it's now being mixed
by Wes at Polysound in Brandon, Florida for release
in Brazil, Austria, Switzerland and Germany.
Upcoming projects include tracking sessions with
All At Random, a really cool, fun band from Central
Jersey, the  new Cherry 13 record and more sessions
on the Neve in Hoboken with The Subterraneans.
I'm excited to report that I've added 2 channels
each of SSL 5000 series mic pre's AND 4 band EQ.
I'm also working towards a new console for the room
later this year...

January 2004 - I've been doing a bit of work in
both the A and B room at Harariville in Hoboken
where they have an incredible custom Neve VR60.
Recently I've worked with jazz guitar legend Chuck
Loeb as well as Danny Mixon and Ricky Bell. I've
also been involved with several local jazz/swing
recordings there and some acoustic rock and gospel
as well as a nationwide TV ad for Brother P-Touch
and a PBS childrens record  - Dr. TickTock -
released on BMG last year.
I also did a session with an up and coming hip hop
artist in NYC at the legendary Sammy "Forever"
Fields' room on Broadway. "Leo" is the cousin of
Shaheem Reid of Wu Tang Clan fame and the little
we've done so far has really excited me. I hope to
be doing more with him in the future.

December 2003 - Some projects that have taken place
in the last year or so include local unsigned bands
like The Bitterhearts, Trace of Shadows,  ICE and
Long Gone Day, as well as independent signed bands
Electric Frankenstein, The High School Sweethearts,
Kung Fu Killers and The Sophomore Effort. I
actually just finished a new round of
pre-production with Electric Frankenstein for Rob
Zombie that we're hoping works out. The past year
or so has also brought more diverse projects such
as a full length classical/rock musical opera, a
60's acappella group and several acoustic acts as
well.
